    Source of coco mats

    Hi All,

Next year I plan of adding coco mats to my 71 targa. By now i would guess members have made numerous purchases and have preferred vendors for coco mats. So far cocomats. com and autosport seem to have products that look satisfactory.

Cocomats.com do make a great product true to the originals of the 60s and 70s, BUT......

The heavy rubber backing makes them very thick and heavy, and they barely fit under the seat rails.

They obviously are aware that the added thickness has created a problem for some and offer the option of the coco mats without the heavy, "modern" backing.

The first set I ordered had the full rubber and aside from adding 10-12 pounds to the car were a pain to slide into place. The second set were ordered sans the rubber, as they were ORIGINALLY, and are nice and light with perfect easy fit.

I rarely endorse companies or products, but a company as good as Cocomats.com deserves to be praised. They produce a wonderful product, and they do it VERY well and in a VERY timely fashion.

I would not hesitate for a second to do business with them again.

    Great company.

    Great product.

    Great people.

+1 to what the others have said. I have had great experiences with cocomats.com and wouldn't hesitate to buy my next set from them. As to Smedley's comment about the seat rails and heft: I haven't had any problems with the stock seat rails and I appreciate the stiffness that the rubber backing provides - extra protection and they're even less prone to sliding around. Sure, it's nice to avoid weight where possible, but I doubt it matters much unless you're racing. That full tank of gas, spare rim + tire, jack, and tool kit add up to a lot more than a set of coco mats
