Turn signal and windshield wiper questions.

    I have 2 questions about my 1967.

    1. After my windshield wipers have run for 5 or 10 minutes they don't want to turn off. Is the issue in the motor or the stalk? I'm guessing the motor is heating up and something changes ot cause the issue.

    2. My turn signal stalk doesn't want to hold a right hand signal most of the time and when it does it needs to be turned off manually. Do I need new springs? How do I fix it?

Your help will be much appreciated, Chris Pomares

Chris, I think the wiper motor needs to come out to be checked, after making sure that it's wired correctly, it does sound strange.

With your indicator problem, did it work properly before? It could be either the springs, or it could be the cancel ring, if you or someone else has worked on your car?

    Tony,
Both the wiper and turn signal stalk have been like that since I bought the car 2 1/2 years ago. I was focused more on the POLO engine conversion, transmission, suspension, interior and other details in the past. Now I'm down to these kind of details. So if anyome has taken the wiper motor apart or fixed either of the steering collum stalks, I'm all ears.

    switches

Sounds like your window wiper switch has burnt points and are sticking. The same with the turn signal.
