What chrome parts does it make sense to re-chrome?

My seat brackets look pretty rough I was wondering just in general what parts does it make sense to rechrome and what parts does it make sense to just buy?

    Thanks.

In my experience (which is not a lot compared to some here) it makes overall sense to rechrome any and all original parts that are sound enough for two reasons

    1. They are invariably better than any repro version
    2. They aren't making any more

To be fair some (few) repro parts are as good as the original (Auto Foreign Services horn grills as an example), but if your originals can be repaired then I'd still go that route.
