I remember watching that too Chuck. French GP, and it must have been tape delay on ABC, right? Probably the best two minutes of F1 ever, and it was for 2nd place. I still smile every time I think of Villeneuve.

Yah, I think you're right Jim...

Probably the best two minutes of F1 ever, and it was for 2nd place.
Absolutely, people forget that Jabouille (Jean the jumper...) was out in front... it was all about 2nd & 3rd

I still smile every time I think of Villeneuve.

    Boy me toooo....
I'm still amazed that back in Vileneuve AND Rosberg's ATLANTIC careers that they could be THAT much better than a whole field of VERY good drivers...

Was following Vileneuve's Atlantic career in Competition Press and saw Rosberg in the pink Excita car at Long Beach....You just couldn't believe your eyes......

I know what you mean. I remember watching Rosberg in an Atlantic race at Lime Rock back in the 70s and couldn't believe what I was seeing. His Atlantic mechanic was that Viking looking guy with the long hair that stayed with him all the way through his career at Williams.

Great footage John. I was hoping the 250 was going to hold on, but I thought he blew it 2 corners from the end - and then that banzai move at the end. Just great!

    Ha - yeah

Amazing thing to me that it doesn't matter if it's F1 or bikes, big time or some obscure dirt track, history or now, these two clips are examples of what it is all about...

Breaking late or less does it for Villenueve! I hope the US GP is exciting this weekend!
