Super nice but agree regarding the color change. Hell, I bought a red '73 that was originally PINK! When I restored it, it went back to pink & have to say, it looked damn good!.. Also regarding this car, the front bumper has S trim while the side & rear bumper have standard trim. I think at this asking price, it should all match..
PS.. "Retail Red" now that's funny!

Never really thought about it that way. Good point. Of course that makes it a 70k car after rectifying that "little" issue. OK for a long term owner, but probably not acceptable to a flipper. Maybe that's the saving grace.

    1967 Polo Red 6601 012
    1968-69 Polo Red 6802 012
    1970-73 Bahia Red 1310/1313 022 (1310 Targa, 1313 Coupe)

Don't see India Red in my books or manuals so far..but at least Bahia Red was a correct 1970 colour.

EDIT : India Red 027 from 1974- Found it in Group 8 of the Factory Manual.

Discount from top price would be cost of taking car back to rare desirable
color. 12m to 15m for good paint job.

Agree with this. If I ever consider a color-changed car, it has to be a poorly-done change retaining the original color in the front trunk. Changing back a color changed front trunk is about +$2K and telegraphs 'repaint.'

Chasing out all the bad color (often 'resale red' or 'hipster black') is a pain.

Oh, and replacing Pastel Blue with red should be a felony.

    * Note: I make exceptions for Sepia. Possibly the only color that is a negative hit on value IMO. Of course that increases the likelihood it will come back in style like Viper, Tangerine and Signal Yellow eventually did.
