Want to replace L & R window scrapers .... can someone tell me how to

... remove the chrome molding piece that holds the rubber on the top of the door next to the glass?

The trim piece is not bolted. It comes off with careful prying. I start at the end and work forward. Sometimes the clips are crusty and need some convincing. Careful not to bend or chip the paint...

So the easy part is removing the chrome trim and the old rubber "scrapers" ..... the chrome piece and what a nightmare sliding the new rubber scrapers on.

I tried: WD40, silicone spray, silicone lube, plumbers paste, TriFlow, water etc ....

....but what really worked ..... Dawn Dishwashing detergent. Yep, I know weird, but it works great. Not diluted, BTW. It is incredibly messy and slippery, so much so that a rag is needed in order to get a goo grip on the rubber window scraper insert. Be sure to get the Dawn all over the channel in the chrome piece and especially in both grooves and bottom of the new rubber piece. A helper/second set of hands really helpful.

And just wait for the rain. You windows will suds up and clean themselves

The new scrapers are a PITA. I ended up using a one of those plastic window gasket tools to shove one side into the channel. It took a lot of small incremental "shoves".
Good thing these don't need replacing all that often.
