    Early Engine Grill Question

This engine grill on Ebay looks like it has been modified with holes drilled through where t-bolts should be but seller insists it is not modified. Is this a non-modified grill? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Porsche-911-...sories&vxp=mtr

This is a 3 bar grill for 68.5-69. It does not appear to be modified. The top hole, or top plate when mounted, is larger than the bottom hole.

the feet on the underside contained a captured bolt. When the bolt gets rusty or otherwise f-ed up, the easiest way to fix is the get the bolt out, drill all the way through and put a bolt in from the top side. I've had to do this before and am doing it on my 73 as the bolts snapped when I tried to remove the nuts ( rust ). I use s.s. button head allens painted semi gloss black. They give a really clean " could have been factory " look. The only other option is to bend the " feet " enough to worm a new bolt in there, then rebend back to the original location. This will almost always crack the finish

...and it has been painted black. The ribs should be unpainted.
