AC condenser on a duck bill spoiler

Does anyone have an original USA model 1974 Carrera, or a 73 RS with factory AC?
How was the center of the AC condenser supported on the deck lid?
    Pictures would be great!

    Thanks,

    John Willhoit

My 73 RS did have factory AC. I have removed it but will look around to see if I have any old photos.

When I bought the car the curved brace at the latch had been removed and replaced with a standard cross brace. I think what happened is that the extra stress from the weight of the condensor caused the original brace to work loose where it is glassed into the inside of ducktail. But from the condensor attachment/support perspective I don't think it was originally any different than a standard deck lid; the mounting points for the grill were used to mount the condensor.

Looked but did not find any pictures of the condensor installed inside the ducktail. From what I recall there is a U-shaped bracket that wraps around the edge of the condensor and attaches to the middle bolt from the grill.

Thanks Jeff. Yes there is a bracket at the bottom but attaching to the lower center of the spoiler is not very strong. I'll keep looking.

I've got an original RS ducktail and my condensor is mounted with 2 retaining bars and a bracket at the bottom. I can't say this is the factory original but it is certainly a very effective mounting. Only one bolt holding the bottom bracket.
