You or your mechanic might be interested in the new book, Porsche 911 Mechanical Fuel Injection Pump, 1969-1973, A DIY Step-By-Step Guide by Michael Burgess. It covers the total repair and calibration of the pump, using great photographs and simple terms that are specifically useful to the "home mechanic". It's available from Toad Hall Motorbooks, www.toadhallbook.com or 303/237-0911.

Great Book but you really need to build an Inverter controlled test stand to be able to calibrate and then you need to source a suitable 'calibration fluid' that won't burn if you get a spark.

Koller & Schwemmer in Nürnberg bought the old Bosch/Kugelfischer Production facilities and now provide a first rate overhaul service, and do offer Service Exchange. There is a stock list shown on their website.

And Bosch 're-integrated' Koller & Schwemmer in the Bosch group in September 2012 - so we will see MFI Bosch works service in the future.

Koller & Schwemmer charge quite a bit more than what we are accustomed to here. In the states Pacific Injection does fantastic work although they are not known for quick turnaround and its phone only.
I think Canford can do this for him and Canford's level of quality and competence seems very good. The other alternative is Josh Sadler at Autofarm also in GB.
