Ive been trying to figure this out

    My 68 911 has a gearbox stamp 0f 902/02
Is this a tranny used on late 912 cars and some early 911's?

The 902 should be a pre 69 912 gearbox with AFMSX gearing.

What is the serial # on the transmission? That will make it easier for me to help.

    1283238 is a type 902/02 with AFMSX gears for a 1968 Model Year 912
so, correct year but wrong model. Perhaps someone upgraded from a 4 speed, but often the simplified diffs blew up.

No, all my data with those trans show them to be in a 912. Also what the tech data show it to be. What is the VIN and paint code from the badge?
