    Bump to the top...

If you entered your Porsche, acceptance letters will be going out shortly. Hotel info will be available next week also.

The Greystone wil have 3 Porsche Classes this year: RS, 911 and 356...They are celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the RS!! I know of 3 RS owners from this board who will be there, I heard 9-10 total. I entered my Targa, Lars W. entered his beige 911, Bob Smith will be bringing his freshly restored Targa. Bob may win 2 years in a row!! Last year his '71 S sunroof coupe took it home

BRM watches will be awarding a Best Porsche Award, to be awarded by some VIP...TBA

This REALLY is a First Class event, run by a GREAT organization...This is NOT like the PCA Concours that has been held there years past. The usual sponors are back!! Tiffany, Gooding, Lawry's, Stella Artois, and many more..
The Greystone Mansion is completely open to the Concours crowd..The views from the home are spectacular. Those people lived well..

All food and beverages, including Stella beer and the tequila bar are included in the ticket price. I believe Lawry's is again sponsoring lunch? All you can eat and drink..

The cars, ALL marques are competing..Several from the Petersen Museum. The food and drink, and location make the Value of the Greystone worth your while to come out and enjoy the day...

PS: Next year they are shooting for 60 Speedsters for the 60th Anniversary of the Speedster

    Bump to the top:

Additional info to pass on if you are on the fence about going and have not ordered a ticket yet...

tickets are available now online for the May 5 concours at www.greystoneconcours.org
and that the advance price saves you $25 over the "day of" price.

The concours field is set with 138 cars, the most ever presented at the event!!! It just gets bigger and better every year!!! The field is comprised of 14 classes including a class for the 60th Anniversary of the Corvette, the 40th Anniversary of the Porsche RS and the 50th anniversary of the introduction of the 911/912.

Various pre-war and post war classes will also be presented, including groups for the following marques: Ferrari, Packard, Jaguar, Ford, Mercedes-Benz, along with a full compliment of motorcycles.

The return of founding sponsors, Gooding & Co. and the Petersen Museum

The "other" sponsers are Beverly HIlls businesses; Brooks Brothers, Bouchon, The Auto Gallery/Auto Gallery McLaren of Beverly Hills, The Montage Beverly Hills, Tiffany & Co., Loro Piana, O'Gara Coach/Rolls Royce of Beverly Hills, The Luxe Hotel Rodeo Drive, Lawry's, Sotheby's,

Also the return of these national sponsors: Meguiars, BRM Watches, Ferrari Financial Services, Chubb Insurance, Stella Artois Beer, Asombroso Tequila, Sports Car Market Magazine, Angeleno Magazine, Vintage Motorsport, among others.

And new for this year, sponsoring the event, will be Driven World Magazine, Fleming's Prime Steakhouse Beverly Hills, Concourso Italiano and Beverly Hills Porsche, among others.

The event is again honored to be endorsed by FIVA, HVA and this year, by the Lee Iacocca Foundation.

There will also be several new vendors including the Sierra Madre Collection, IWC watches and others; and a (functioning) display of slot cars will be in the mansion, along with the event's various vendors. One of the FEW times the mansion is open to the public.

The Montage, Luxe and other Beverly Hills hotels (as shown on the website) are providing packages as a number of exhibitors and attendees are coming from out of the local area (more so than the event has ever had before!)

The Cocktail reception for exhibitors, sponsors and City officials will be saturday, May 4, hosted by Bouchon, The Montage, Fleming's and others).

The May 5 Concours ticket is all-inclusive as in the past. This year a fashion show has been added to the days' events and a new parking location has been added within a minute of the venue with expanded shuttle service at 9255 Sunset (Sunset and Doheny).

The lecture series will again be presented (with all new speakers), along with the marketplace of vendors in the mansion. Food service will be by Lawry's catering with a Cinco de Mayo touch, along with beverage service by Stella Artois and Asombroso Tequila. Food and Beverage are included in the ticket price, the cars will be incredible, held at a FANTASTIC location..How much is a Quail ticket this year??

If it sounds like I am on a soap box, I am...Those who I told in the years past and went, felt I UNDERSOLD the event..You have to see to believe

This event gets better every year...

After the Saturday night reception, there was an extra treat..we walked over to the Garage of Bruce Meyer...He had his '73 RS entered. His collection is AMAZING. The First Cobra, the Testa Rossa, to the MB owned by Clark Gable, etc. etc.

The Garage is ALL that and more...I have to say that Bruce Meyer is just a REALLY great Car Guy. He invited basically the entire reception over. Said hello to everyone as we entered, and stood at the doorway to say Good Night to each of us as we left. A gracious host.
