Car is kind of unique. Besides being a '67 911S targa (500+ built), car was loaded up by either the purchaser or the dealer. PO doesn't have information on first owner but knows that it was a corporation that bought if for the CEO to use. Car is loaded up with dealer A/C, TTG fogs or driving lights, under the bumper fog lights and 356 style head rests. Surprised that was not ordered with sport seat or leather.

Engine has its own history in that PO worked out a deal with a NJ dentist (Weiss) who raced at Daytona, Sebring and Watkins Glen from 72 through 77. Probably not a big budget operation since the dentist arranged with PO to use the engine as his backup for those races in exchange for rebuilding engine with Jahn's pistons and other modifications. May have actually raced at one or all of the above venues during the period. Displacement is now either 2.4 or 2.5 liters. Hoping to pin down races in which it was used although it is at best a strange kind of provenance. Hard to imagine being a full race engine on Sunday and a touring engine on Monday. Should be an interesting tear down on the engine.

When first seeing this car on Samba my reaction was nooooo way. doigthom, you are a brave man... OTOH, a '67S SWT is a rare thing.

Good luck with a monumental project, we're all looking forward to occasional updates of this tattered pilgrim's progress.
