ABC Partswerks was started by Doug Darrah in Milwaukee. Doug is now semi-retired in Florida. His kids have taken over and continue to run the business from Milwaukee. Doug is a good guy and their work is top notch.
Thanks Chris.

Agree and must confess that I bought some NOS from Paul C which are painted black. But did you look at this picture? I don't know what color the struts are. Hopefully going up to see Dale on Friday or Monday and incidentally collecting the front end to have another guy undertake restoration. Will try to see if any color left on struts that would be identifiable and will report back. Do you agree with my hypothesis that the front struts are 912 variety based on the PET? For all I know the PO may have put Koni struts on. Will check the tube markings. I think we can both agree that my struts are "rust" color. LOL
I noticed you're a little late on the WD40.

Those are old pictures. Everything buffed out just fine.
im doing a similar project ..... what brand of rubbing compound did you say you used???
Colgate Tooth Whitener
Here are a comparison from Boge to Koni: the tube housing is different between the two makes. Koni tube diameter steps in just above the axle while the Boge diameter size is constant.
Note the manufacture is part of the ID stamping on the dust covers.
It has been established that in the mid 1960's Koni was the older grey'ish burgundy color rather then orange.
It is always a good thing to open up and look inside the struts because Koni made a shock with the Boge top gland nut 1.5mm thread to retro fit into a Boge strut.
Yup, a Koni into a Boge strut. While the Koni strut gland nut and housings threads are a fine 1mm pitch.

Thanks for the input Bob, but we are debating the very narrow point of the color of the Boge struts and shocks on the '67 SWB targa. We know that Porsche elected to use the Boge because the Koni cause rigidity (?) or torsional problems. People later switched to Koni but only Boge correct for the '67 Targa (both s and normal). Maybe true for '68. Boge in '67 was gray blue in color but may have been supplied in black for the targas. I am going to try to make a definitive determination.
