    Brain,
    Your fan looks sweet!
I've admired photos of Mark's work.
Is the treatment of the fan and housing a proprietary process?

    Thanks Ken,
I don't know if it is or not, but I wanted the hub out, replated, and re-riveted in. He's the guy.

There're 100 ways to skin a cat, as they say. His build looks like it's a TON of fun, but I see a number of things he did differently than I which no doubt change the characteristics of the motor/car.

For example, he used a light clutch and flywheel, short stroke crank, smaller turbocharger, and smaller port size. The motor is probably very snappy and quick to rev which is nice when run with a long-legged 4-speed box (like he has), but it probably falls off boost a little quick because of the lightweight rotating assembly.

I'm using a stock flywheel and clutch, 36mm intake and exhaust ports, and K27 turbo ... all those things lead to longer spool time and hurt the bottom end, but the weight of the rotating assembly prevents the motor from falling off boost too quickly once things get spinning. Additionally, I'm running a larger displacement, higher static compression ratio, and a close-ratio 5-speed gearbox (not short gears, just close ratio). My goal is a motor that is tractable off boost so I have usable power around town, but also I want a motor that comes off slow corners on the track fairly well and then gets with the program once the hairdryer starts blowin'.

Right now, though, I'm just waiting for the turbocharger...eagerly waiting.

One of these days Marco, if or when my 3.0 gives up the ghost, I'm sending it to you! I like your thinking.

Any time Chris - I don't think that car has run like that in a long long time
