Just got back from the RGruppe Treffen. Just short of 2500 miles (.2% were at Willow Springs Raceway) round trip. Had a great time and my wife enjoyed it, too. Lots of driving and witnessing incredible scenery. We went from 280 feet below sea level to 10,000 above SL in the same day, on the way home.

Added a little fire protection to my fire protection. And a spare to help someone else out if need be.

Fitted new summer tires ... GoodYear efficient grip 195/65 R15 V. Never had them before, interesting on paper, just curious to feel how they really are.

Sure. I will put some miles on them during the weekend ... today I found wet road and with new tires it's not really indicative of the potential. Meanwhile, (excellent on snow) winter's Klebers found place on newly refurbished 02/1974 ATS ...

    Post-weekend scriptum:

Didn't put as many miles as I wished but ... so far so good! These GoodYear have quite a soft compound, less understeering in negotiating the bend compared to former Pirelli P6000 N1 (same size) and much lower price: I'd say it's good value for money! The tires follow the road imperfections quite a lot, but they are very communicative to driver. Mayby they have less grip on traction when the engine "is in the revs" but they are still in the "running in" period.
