    1970 sport seats (hard)

I had a pair of recaro sport seats re-done several years ago. They came out great, but I do not sit in them, I sit on them. This is because the bolster for the seat seems to be very hard and one does not sink into the seat. The way they are, the support bolsters are meaningless as they do not hug your sides. Does snyone know how to cure this problem?

    Happy Holiday.

Trade them to a plumber for regular seats in the spirit of Christmas.

    Fitting.
    plumber, you're a crack up.

So you're suggesting that the bolster is actually acting as a key way or locking device?

Seat time is the key!!! or find a 200 pound driver to break them in real quick. They soften with age and use.

The Frank Beck and Plumbers comments were great! I was and remain unsure as to whether it is about loosening the straps, or a need for a softer foam.

I have heard that many seat re-builders use a foam which is stiffer than what was used in the 70's and the newer foams have a "memory" like feature, where they seem to pop back to their original form all the time.

The seats in my rs are a bit hard too, but you fall into them and do not sit on, but in them. It is such a big difference when driving.

Please keep in mind that it's not just the foam, the bolsters also have a metal frame in them. The density of the foam is not an issue.

On a scale from 1-10, how big is your butt? (Keep in mind a 1 is the guy whose pants drop immediately to his ankles without a belt and a 10 is the person who seems to always sit next to you in coach.)
Unless you're simply too "husky", the problem more than likely is the bottom cushion elastic straps.

Without a small to mid size butt, sport seats look much cooler than they feel.
