Well there's an optimist for ya.
It's nice that they installed the ugly foam bumperettes in their '73 update.
Could be a good basis for a backdate project

Doesn't look right, mirrors, wheels, seats, door pockets warped. If that's all obvious from photos just guess what wrong beyond photos.

    Porschenomics

With Winter upon us --- cold + gloomy, holidays, taxes, Fiscal Cliff + etc . . .

    . . . here's my thinking . . .

Take the value of an excellent driver-condition '69 S coupe?

    . . . now subtract . . .

. . . the cost/effort/time/etc to make THIS CAR excellent

    . . . now subtract another, oh --- 20%, maybe? . . .

    . . . equals . . .

    . . . the starting cost-basis for an offer

Fiscal cliff reminds me of the film "White Wilderness" that the government schools let us watch as kids in the 60's. Remember all of the Lemmings jumping off the cliff into the Arctic Sea? (For those under 40, you have no idea what I'm talking about.) It wasn't the fall that killed them; it was the exhaustive swim to a non existant shore that led to their demise.

The non existant "shore" of life returning to normal after the cliff (or a bailout) will not be without years of serious pain. Reality is going to be a cruel schoolmaster over the next few years and we all better be ready for a wild ride.
