    FS: 1967 911S FUCHS PN 901.361.012.01 4.5 x 15 set of 4 UNRESTORED

Up for Sale is a set of 1967 911S FUCHS. No center caps. These are rare and are becoming more difficult to find.
These have been sitting a garage for 15+yrs. I am selling these to fund the restoration of my 993.
All 4 wheels are un-restored and are in good shape. They still have their original hard baked anodizing finish and you can see and their original black paint. This is a set of early ones in which the part numbers were not cast into the wheel, they were rubber stamped ( See photos). Three of the wheels have the part number which is very visible the fourth one is not very visible. You can tell by the equal condition that this is a matched set. Only one wheel has a blemish which is a small curb mark which I attached a close up of.
I called Harvey Weidman and I did a little research to come up with a current value on these wheels. I am sure most people know his name in The Porsche community, he is known as the only person who can still restore these correctly with the correct Anodized finish. Based on what I have seen these sell for in the last few years, which granted there has not been many sets sell from what I could gather. I have seen these go for $3600-4250 a set. Considering the condition I am asking $4000 O.B.O + Shipping.
If you have any questions please send me a Private Message and I can call you or email more photos if necessary.

Is it normal for the part numbers etc not to be cast into the spokes? These look like they have been printed on the surface of the metal... I haven't seen that before: perhaps someone can enlighten me as my knowledge of early markings is hazy... nice looking wheels though...

Was it possible for the ink to completely disappear? If so, how can one tell early genuine wheels from repros? Just asking for info... thanks again!

dead giveaway is their weight...oem forged Fuchs 4.5x15 weigh just under 11 lbs the repros are significantly heavier at around 15+lbs

Thanks for the answers, Soterik and Richard... guess I'll have to weigh mine when I change the tires... the guy who owned my car for 38 years said they were Fuchs and the mechanic who has worked on the car for 25 years said he was 99% sure they were, but I always had my doubts as there were no markings other than the date stamps. They certainly look like the real thing, and don't weigh that much, so maybe I was being too harsh on them...

    Thanks again

    Stephen

To all who doubt that these are 'real 4.5's' please have your head examined. These are correct.

Erik is 'THE PRIMO' SWB, Esse guy and major contributor for the passion behind the hard work involved with making your early 911 what it should be. If he is selling /or endorsing one set of Fuchs(and the very, super rare, one year only 4.5 Fuchs) then those are real and well worth the asking $$$. I wish I needed another set.

    Happy Holidays Erik!!

Sorry, my fast mistake, Erik is not selling (but two answers already is sort of an endorsment?)

4.5 fuch's do not have date stamps (not the stamped into metal type - I do not think ink either) , at least any that I have seen....neither early versions without casting letters or numbers....or late versions with.

As far as anything stamped , only the foxhead logo . And one/some single letter (various inspection - most likely) stamp/ 's.

Of course , possibly at the VERY end of production for the 1967 MY . MAYBE it was implemented as with the 1968 MY 5.5 (which were date stamped).........or possibly on any later produced replacement 4.5 wheels (IF any were made for replacement ? , I do not know. Possibly the factory just sold 5.5's as replacement pieces ?) ..

But again , i've never seen any that were. And i've examined a good number. If yours are , post a photo of a stamp sometime.
