    A (possibly dumb) SWT question

Given the rear screen zips and out - what do the two hoops/bows do?

They don't seem to be able to pivot through a big arc like a convertible top bow. Do they only move a little/enough to tension the rear window?

They provide mounting, form and securement. The bottom hoop secures to the body at four places: two points in back, and on either side of the targa bar where it meets the body. The top hoop also secures the top to the body at four locations: two points on either side of the targa bar and secures the two receptacles for the handles on top that provide/release tension. And as you say, the top hoop has to pivot slightly when operating the tension handles. Fit and operation of the SWT would not be possible without the two hoops/bows.
