About the first 300 68 911's had the 67 type of grill. after that it went to the 3 bar for the rest of the 68 and all of the 69 production. Chris

Here is a couple pics of the late 68 grill, more pics available on request, I was not sure how long it ran, similar to my 71 but not the same.
Let me know if this is not correct for the late 68.

    Regards

    Jerry, that's a nice looking 68-69 grill.

It started after the beginning of MY68 (early 68s had a different one) and ran through the end of MY69 cars.

You even have the black paint on the 'bars'.

Chris - Thanks for this knowledge. I was just realizing that my '68S rear grill didn't look like many of the 67's or one 68S I've seen online in the last year or two (looking through BAT, Sotheby auctions). I was starting to wonder if mine was correct or not (you know that feeling in the pit of your stomach). Mine is a late VIN (12XX) 68S, and has the 3 bar grill which I literally couldn't find on any other SWB. Do you know the source of what you wrote above? Is that from a book? Would love to find it documented somewhere.
