    911 2.0 FIA n°183 rules Period F

    Hello,

I have just baught a 911 chassis # 303520 from december 65 or january 66 and looking for informations about FIA homologation n°183 for period F :

I know I have to have Solex carbs but can I use :

    - 2.0L 69S heads single plug with large valves and port 36mm, 35mm and as fitted in the 906 (twin plug, port 38mm, 38mm)

    - 81mm pistons HC

    - cams : Solex cams without modifications, Solex cams mod by DRC or cams of my choice ?

    Thank you for your help

    In answer to your questions:

    1) no, you cannot use big valve heads. You have to stick with the 65 spec small valve sizes. This, more than the Solex carbs, is the real limitation on the power you can get out of an FIA 2 litre.
    2) yes, you can go 1mm overbore and stay within the regs. Compression ratio is free.
    3) yes, cams are free and you can use anything you want. Some people use 906 spec but that doesn't necessarily make for the quickest lap time on circuits that require torque out of slow corners.
