    Engine #960664

Please help me understand what there is to understand from this engine number? This is from a 1967 S car . . . I don't know what happened to the car but have the engine. Any info would be helpful.

The number indicates that it's off a '67 S coupe. I would recommend posting it in the Lost and Found folder for the Registry. Someone may be looking for it.

    Good luck.

Well, you know it is a 1967 911S engine, and the case will be aluminum. If complete it could be worth good money, but a lot depends on the condition. I expect the build # is 6556. You could take a photo and add it to the build thread:

There are other #'s of interest on the engine, but some may be hard to see.
