Actually not nearly as gutsy as it might seem. More like a "no brainer", as I have been in the throws of negotiations on two other 911s this past week (one a '72 911E, the other a '72 911T) that I had made offers on. Upon seeing the Ebay listing, it became a pretty simple analysis to conclude this was the better purchase on all accounts. To have waited would have meant exposing myself to someone else hitting the BIN, thereby pre-empting both me and the auction. Waiting the auction out, to see if I could have bought the car below the BIN didn't work either since the other purchase negotiations were still active, and I could only have one offer out there at a time. MFI would have been nice, but you can't have everything. Speaking for me, I'll trade horsepower for a sunroof any day (except perhaps track day).

UPDATE: Very pleased to report that the missing badge bar and the original bumperettes will be reunited with the car, at my request. Thanks to the vendor Pete!
Never like it when original cars like this get stripped of some of their desirable features, and become donor cars for someone else's project. Not saying that's what was at play here.
In the process such cars lose their sense of continuity and the sense of history, not to mention some valuable items.
Also: Glad you concur with my purchase...or is it called a Porschase?

Great buy, and a superb colour. I'll have to see it in person at a local cars-n-coffee.

I have not been to a Toronto area c-n-c but I think it is regular. We had a few in Ancaster, but probably not another until the spring.
