Wonderful. Great quote from Moss (as some beautiful women walk by): "To come to Monaco and talk to men... it's a waste of time, so excuse me."

Great vintage video! It was amazing to me that the chassis that Fittapaldi has the crash in at Dijon was the same one that I saw him win his first ever F1 race at Watkins Glen in 1970. He had just replaced Rindt who had been killed at the previous race at Monza. Chapman mentions that the chassis had been used for four years and that was the first time it was tweaked.

So many things in the vid that remind me how different things were, but one in particular is the scene where the doctor is giving Fittapadi pain medication after his practice accident. After hobbling over in pain and sliding in, Emmo is sitting in the T car with the doctor telling him the pain pills will slow his reactions "like having a whiskey" . You likely wouldn't see that these days ........ unless the driver was Raikkonen.

I was at Watkins Glen too in 1970 - my first F1 race. I still have the audio cassette tape we made of Saturday practice. You can hear Chris Economaki on the loud speakers with the 12 Cyl. BRM's, Matras and Ferraris blasting by.

I use to go to the Glen every year and we'd also go to Mosport Park too. Back in those days it was still cool to smoke so on race weekend we'd buy du Marier's and black packed John Player ciggies in Canada. Stupid yes but we had a blast. I was there at Mospost in 1973 so I saw Stewart's last race. We then went to the Glen and I was there when Cevert was killed. Gawd almighty, how horrible to be at a race weekend when one of your favorite drivers is killed. If I remember correctly, at 5PM there was playing of the French National anthem and people were crying. Here we are at race weekend with tremendous noise and general chaos and it was flat silent for Cevert.

I ended up buying a brand new 1974 Europa twin cam series 6 - blue with gold pin stripes. God it was beautiful! Those were fun days and so much more casual then today.

    Great to hear Colin's voice.

That is shown in the movie at 55:00. Sad day indeed.

What an amazing run the 72 had, huh? Probably only rivaled by the Bugatti Type 35 and the Porsche 908.
