    WTB: Red trumpet horn

-Update 1/10/13- Still need this horn!

I'm in need of a red trumpet style horn for my 71S. I don't know if it's the high or low tone, but it's the shorter one of the two that I need. Thanks

The short horn would be marked "hoch" and is the high tone.

    Good luck in your search.

    Glenn,
I have this pair. Dirty, and have some undercoat & dirt on them. No Cracks and should clean up OK. Taking them home from storage to be sure they work. Don't want to split up the pair - but will sell pair for $250 shipped if they both work.

Thanks Sam, if they both work, I would probably do that. Let me know.

Were these red horns also used on '73 911's?

    Dean,

I believe the Banjo style were used on '73 so they should be correct.

And they are the right ones to get others attention. I couldn't do without mine. It also wouldn't hurt when you get them to take the black cover off and remove all the sand and dirt that may have accumulated over the years. Just make sure to mark the position of the cover before you remove it as it is important. One horn points down and the other horn faces forward. It is the latter that will get the dirt in it. Good luck.

I google tief translation in german and it means deep. Would that not make it the low note?

Now that I have confimation that Red Horns are correct for my '73 911 look's like I am in the market for a pair of red horns. Anybody have a good working pair they want to sell?

    Dean911E,
I would like to add that at some point in 1973 the horn style changed. My car is July 1973 production and it came with the later style red horns.
