    FS: 1971 911T 2.2L engine (GA, $1200)

    SOLD

This nice engine was removed from its original car (car was converted to a race car) and later sold to me. The engine ran well before when removed from its original car (that car is now a race car). I talked to the original owner who later passed away (Atlanta guys will know him). The engine turns freely with a wrench on the crank. The VIN is 6115749. I sold the car that it was going to go in.

$1200. I can deliver within an easy distance for a fair price or ship in on a pallet at your cost (ZIP 30350).

Pardon me being an engine knucklehead but what is missing or what would I need to put that in my 69 912 other than the carbs or MFI?

As pictured its missing fan/alternator, flywheel, oil cooler, distributor, engine wiring harness. Those + engine mounts and bob's your uncle. Oh, and maybe a rear wiring console and a CD unit... and an oil tank.

    Bob,
That is a good question. First, It probably needs rebuilding before going to the expense of an engine exchange. I had the valve covers off as you can see in the last picture. The valve train and cams look good. It turns over freely, but I couldn't do a compression or leak-down test (my old-style compression gauge did not fit).

It will need a fuel system with an air filter system. It will need a fan (don't ask me what happened to it). The plugs are in it (to keep out dirt), but it will need plugs, plug wires, distributor, and the harness to the body electrical system (which will probably need a 911 system).

Then there is the flywheel and clutch. It will need the engine skirts. I am sure that I missed a few things.

I am sorry but does the buyer not have to post that they are in negotiations for the part/engine?

    Duane,
A member here bought it. He PM'd me a low four figure offer. He has a 2.2L with a cracked case.

No. From the "Read me" sticky at the top of the forum:
