Weber Technical Workshop in North California

I've been thinking about offering a weekend workshop to discuss Weber, Solex and Zenith carburetors for our six cylinder engines with emphasis on the Webers.

    Topics would include:
    • Basic carburetor operation
    • Dis-assembly and inspection of components
    • Servicing of worn components
    • Reassembly
    • Basic setup and tuning
    • Troubleshooting
    • Performance modifications

I want to schedule a convenient time in early Summer (May?) or perhaps late Spring.

My shop location would be easiest for me (Chico, CA) but if there was enough interest I would arrange to have it in the San Francisco Bay area, perhaps at a friendly Porsche provider's facility.

I expect this to take a day and a half so a Saturday/Sunday sounds appropriate. I would provide a lunch for Saturday with morning and afternoon treats.

Since this is a starting point I would like some input regarding interest, topics, convenient schedule (to avoid obvious conflicting Porsche events), etc.

    Thanks to all in advance!

Can I bring my Webers with me?
Even though I'm in So Cal, I would be interested in attending.

Wow, from the responses so far I think I will need to follow through on this!

I have a space tentatively secured in Sonoma, CA (the city) and a date of 20April which is a Saturday. The individual who is offering his private work shop suggested I make this a one day affair for those not inclined to overnight and the Sonoma location is attractive for the spouses to tour the area during the day. Also, I'm thinking of a continuance into Sunday for one-on-one interaction (yes, bring your Webers, Solexes and Zeniths); when all is finished there are loads of wonderful Sonoma county roads to explore on Sunday.

I am thinking of limiting the attendees to 30 maximum; price to be no more than $75 which will be a function of food costs; I might have a taco wagon on site for Saturday's lunch which would reduce my expenses and asking price for the event.

I'll be posting this more formally in the "Events" forum in the next couple of days.

Thank you to all and I look forward to seeing you there!

    Hi Paul,

This sounds like a great idea. I wish I lived closer to attend.
