    Original SWB Hella Headlights

I'm building a set of original SWB base headlights. These are the ones that use the Hella SB 19 bucket and the Hella SB19 SB20 SB21 lenses. I have a couple questions about the chrome rings.

    - I know they have two adjusting screws - were they diagonal?

    - And were they slot or Phillips? I know that 356's used slot adjusting screws and 911's eventually used Phillips, but I'm not sure when the transition occurred.

    Thanks,
    JohnA

Diagonal? Is this in reference to location on the rings?

Slotted for early 65-67 USA headlight assemblies. The Czech repros that recently came on the market have philips. Eric is now making rings at a better price point and have to assume knowing Eric and his details that the screws are slotted.

With diagonal I was referring to the adjusting screws. They should be at 1:00 and 7:00 I believe.

I've ordered a pair of Eric's chrome rings. I think he uses Phillips screws. Eric?

    Hellas

John, I recently read somewhere that the Hellas have slotted screws & Bosch has the Philips type screws.
This seems to be accurate. ....Cliff
By the way, I have a box full of early headlight internals, USA & Euro?.They look to have been bead blasted & painted. I'll send you a photo when I get home.

    headlights

    John,
Greetings. I recently dragged home a 66-912. I don't know very much about the very early cars or if this configuration is original, but I've included some pix of the headlights for reference. The adjusters are slotted and located at 8:00 and 2:00.

    regards,
    Al

I hope Eric's are slotted like the above picture. They are the one's in demand.
