    the badge reads 025
    that is the code for Aubergine in the July 1971 paint card for the 1972 model year.
    it was a standard color that year and in 1973

    thanks for the correction indeed 025 9-2 thought it might have been Royal Purple, it appears to be dull in the Ebay pic maybe without a clear coat. Aubergine always appeared darker to my eyesight even in person. I have yet to see royal purple in the flesh whether old or fresh, gotta love the Porsche colors of our favorite yearrs
