WTB: for 1965 911; gold 911 deck lid badge and side spears

Sorry for the repost, I have made my first 911 forum faux pas on my first day of membership! This was originally posted in "other porsche parts for sale/wanted"

Hello fellow early 911 owners. I just purchased my first 911 and it's a gem-of-a-car. The car was restored 25 years ago and has been with the previous owner for the last 20 years being used regularly on nice days and well maintained. VIN is 302470 with original engine and transmission.

The car appears to be 99% complete but is missing the gold 911 decklid badge and the driver and passenger chrome side spears. If anyone here has these parts available in nice condition or knows of a supplier, please let me know.

I look forward to learning from all of you and contributing my learnings from my 911 experiences.

Welcome to the club Alex. If you haven't already, post some photos of your new car in the "show your ride" thread.
If you'd like a new emblem, they are available through Stoddards.
    http://www.stoddard.com/shop/shopexd.asp?id=62190

They can be a good parts resource if you haven't found them already.

Alex, you need to measure the space between the holes that secure the script. There are two different spacings for it! .....Cliff

Interesting price difference between Stoddard and SM on the deck badge.

    I mentioned the $4.00 because on Sierra the part # 901 559 301 20 is $75.41, on Stoddard its $79.00. What am I missing?
I am interested since I have a two piece Porsche emblem and wondered what it is worth.

He is talking about the "911" emblem not the "Porsche" lettering.

Thanks everyone for the leads. Yes, I am looking for the "911" emblem and I will check the above referenced suppliers. The mounting holes measure 54mm apart. So why are there different pitch mounting holes? Are the "911" emblems different sizes too? When did the transition take place?

Sorry for the many questions. I have been a collector of Alfa Romeo for several years (notice my alias) but have always wanted a Porsche 911 since I was in my early teens. I have much to learn about 911's still.

On that note, anyone have a list of recommended reading materials for early 911 ownership?
    Thanks all.
