    H1 Screws

This needs to come up every 5 years or so...

I'm trying to figure out the type of screws that are used on H1's. I think that they're M4-0.7 x 6mm Phillips Oval Head Metric Machine Screw DIN 966A. Does anyone know for sure?

    Thanks,
    JohnA

Edit: These look like they might be coarse thread.

    H 1 Screws

Yes, John , I have a nos set with the screws attached. Will post a picture a little later tonite. Someone needs to mfg. some of these, because thy're correct & I think a little longer than what is usually used out there by most & have a rubber ferrule with a plastic washer to keep water out of the headlight bucket & moisture off the H 1 unit$$.

John, just to pik a nit here, the way you wrote the screw description is incorrect. When you state 'M4' that IS the diameter, the second # is the pitch, but I think your third # implied diameter. That should be the length. Your description would seem to indicate two different diameters. Just in case you'd like to know.

Ed, I'm not familiar with the vernacular of fasteners. I just cut and pasted what was in my post from a fastener website without really understanding it. Thanks for the clarification - it's just what I was looking for when I started the thread.

I'm still hoping to learn otherwise, but as far as I can tell, these screws are not available. It looks like the best option is to salvage screws from old H4's or somesuch.

    NOS h1 attachment screw

Here is the screw, ferrule & plastic outer washer on a set of H1`s..The ferrule is 1 cm long & the screw is 2.7/8 cm long....about 7mm inside diameter for the plastic washer. These are probably the later H 1`s if there is any difference!

Just for the record John, which screws were you referring to, the aiming screws or the single screw that holds the unit into the bucket??

Originally I was interested in learning more about the adjustment screws - now I'm interested in learning about both.
