Any recommendations for Source of hardware: Nuts and Bolts

Often I am wishing I knew a good source for the correct plated hardware for my cars. Anyone suggest some good sources?

i would be interested as well - i am thinking about the need to "put some in stock" for the future, especially the yellow plated ones.
if there is a good source it is then just a matter of how many of which sizes to stock up on

I buy an assortment box from Wurth. Most Wurth distributors should be able to order these. It has all the right sizes of nuts, bolts, and washers for Porsche, and comes in a nice metal compartmentalized box. You can get them in untreated silver, or cad plated. For my Nylocks and crush washers, I get them from EBS.

I've had good luck with this site. Very fast shipping and they have a good assortment of the stuff we need. And I use these guys because they carry everything in yellow zinc.

Are you just looking for metric? Lowe's and Home Depot have that.

Mcmaster-Carr is worth a look. They have just about everything you need, and do carry some items in yellow zinc finish if that's important.

I like fasteners almost as much as I like tool kits. I've saved every screw, nut, bolt, washer, etc. that I've come across in the last 25 years. I've even picked them up off the street (I found a perfect undamaged H1 by the side of the road once, but that's a different story). When anyone in the family needs a fastener of any kind they stop by my shop and I usually have it.

I've found Wurth to be a good source for bulk purchases. And our local Ace has an amazing inventory for onesies and twosies.

I have used Metric and Multistandard Component Corporation for 40 years. They have minimum order of $25, but you can mix and match quantities. Their fasteners are generally German sourced ( not Home Depot Taiwanese!) and available in raw steel, black oxide, clear or yellow Zinc. Great company.
