Ed, I was thinking the same thing. Also the wonderful colors of the Porsches back then compared to the the models of today.

Today the gal with the long legs probably has some rust in her bottom and a few leaks. Just like some of those early 911's.

Interesting bit of info. The bassman for the Flecktones is Victor Wooten. Victors Brother, Joseph (now with the Steve Miller band) played keyboards in my band back in the late 80's and Victor sat in for me in my band when I had some surgury in 1987. This was before he had become so famous. All of the Wooten Brothers are great folks and very accomplished musicians.

Thank you for these terrific links! As Chuck Miller's post about the U-2.5 Trans Am reminds us, "ordinary" folks were able to go racing in "big time" series during the early '70's. Seeing a Norisring paddock and an entry list including under-700cc Steyr-Puch's and under-1000cc NSU TTS's on the long circuit makes me nostalgic for the good old days when you didn't need a $250K+ car to race at the national level. You can see why LeMons racing has become so popular...

Bumping was a good idea... great vintage footage, and I love the sense of speed of the formula cars going up the hill in the wet (and the almost complete lack of safety for spectators - particularly the guy walking along the track edge!)...
1966 911 Coupe - Slate Grey - 304598 - still in restoration!

also had a look at it today....very nice.
first part is in nuremberg on the field of the "reichsparteitag", where all the big nsdap events took place and which was developed to a race track...the noris ring
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norisring
as written before, strongly linked to porsche due to the accident of Pedro Rodríguez
The formula race is the race in monaco...up the hill to the casino curve...the pedestrians on the sidewalk, incredible....
best regards from bavaria

Very cool! But, alas, that delivery lot where we all used to press our noses up against the fence.....a GIANT hole with construction cranes...the new Concept 2 electric assembly plant. The campus has changed dramatically.
The Monaco footage......all those people just walking along side the racing surface up Beau Rivage to St Devote! No guard rail!! Rain! Yikes! Another time.
Priceless footage.
