This particular example has lived the past 15+ years of its life with its current owner in Beverly Hills as his pride and joy.     BaT Description:

    This 1969 Porsche 911S coupe was purchased from Otto Glöckler Porsche in Frankfurt, Germany by the seller’s father in September 1969. It was subsequently imported to California and was inherited by the seller in 2015. The car is finished in Zinc Yellow over black leatherette and powered by a numbers-matching 2.0-liter flat-six paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes 15″ Fuchs wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, Recaro sport seats, a three-spoke steering wheel, and a Blaupunkt cassette radio. Service in October 2021 consisted of adjusting the valves and changing the filters and fluids. This 911S coupe is now offered with service records, owner’s and repair manuals, the original sales invoice, a tool kit, a Porsche Classic Technical Certificate, and a clean California title in the seller’s name. The car left the factory finished in Zinc Yellow (6861) and is said to have been refinished in the mid-1990s. Equipment includes body-colored bumpers with rubber moldings, amber tail lights, bright rocker moldings and headlamp trim rings, and gold badging. Finish flaws are highlighted in the gallery.

    Anodized 15″ Fuchs wheels feature black accents and are mounted with Michelin MXV4 Pilot tires that show 2004 date codes. An October 2021 inspection by Pacific Power Motor Sports in Walnut Creek, California performed at that time noted leaking shocks, dry suspension bushings, hard brake hoses, and play in the front wheel bearings. Service in May 2022 included overhauling the front brakes and new sway bar and drop link bushings.

    Factory Recaro sport seats are upholstered in black leatherette, and additional equipment includes a heater, a locking glove box, and a Blaupunkt Richmond cassette radio. The seller notes that air horns were added and the factory horn remains. The leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel features an Alpina horn button, and instrumentation includes a centrally mounted tachometer with a 7,200-rpm redline as well as a 150-mph speedometer, a clock, and gauges for fuel level, oil level, oil temperature, and oil pressure. The seller notes that the speedometer runs high by approximately five miles per hour. The five-digit odometer shows 45k miles and is said to have rolled over. Total mileage is unknown, and the clock does not work.

    The 2.0-liter flat-six features Bosch mechanical fuel injection and was rated at 170 horsepower when new. The seller states that the engine was overhauled at 100k miles with machine work performed by Lukes & Shorman of San Pablo, California. In October 2021, Pacific Power Motor Sports adjusted the valves, drained the fuel tank, and changed the fluids, fuel filter, and air filter. Engine oil leaks are noted. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a type 901 five-speed manual transaxle with optional “Fast Circuit” gear ratios. Additional photos of the underside are provided in the image gallery. The engine case and transaxle stampings are shown and match the Porsche Classic Technical Certificate. The Porsche Classic Technical Certificate was issued in November 2021 by Porsche Monterey and shows the factory colors, optional equipment, and component numbers. The sales invoice from Otto Glöckler Porsche in Frankfurt, Germany lists an original price of DM 24.420. Owner’s and service manuals are also included in the sale, as well as a tool kit and service records.

    For sale by second owner. Beautiful, rare, restored 1967 model year European Porsche 911S coupe, the first of the iconic 911S Series. Completed on 11/14/1966 as the 19th (by VIN) of only 523, 911S models. USAF Capt. Washburn purchased the car in Spain in June 1968. He drove it across Europe until his return to the U.S. where he drove the car daily. On an extended trip, the engine broke down and was replaced by a 1969 case. In 1977, it was sold to its current owner who drove it daily until garaged. A comprehensive, bolt up, rotisserie restoration process was begun in 2015 at Foreign Affairs Motorsports in South Florida with participation by other well recognized restoration specialists. While in the rolling restoration phase it was invited to and exhibited at the 2019 PCA Parade Historic Display in Boca Raton. Restoration was completed in 2021. The restored vehicle is as original as possible, including COA specified silver metallic exterior paint, black leatherette, refurbished and recalibrated gauges, exhaust, Blaupunkt Koln radio, Talbot exterior mirror, Recaro left side driver's seat, outside thermometer and more. The engine, transmission, suspension and all other mechanical, electrical and brake components have been rebuilt, replaced or remanufactured as required. Parts and supplies were acquired from reputable international and national suppliers. The yet installed original Webasto gas heater with new installation parts is also available as well as restoration invoices, original tool kit, jack, manuals, a clean title, COA, original bill of sale, and extensive restoration photographs. Five original, restored Fuchs wheels (4.5 x 15 inch) installed for first time on 1967 911S models are included as are a mounted rear windshield wiper and fog and driving lights.

    Own a rare example of the Porsche linage for $245,000, below Hagerty's $265,000 recommended valuation for a #2, Excellent average example of this model, given a period correct but non-matching engine.
