Our newest completed restoration, a 1967 Porsche 911 S Sunroof Coupe finished in its rare factory original color combination of Bahama Yellow with red leather interior.
The lucky new owner of this car resides in Massachusetts and had been looking for a sunroof coupe the past few years. Upon hearing we found this one just outside Lake Elsinore, California he immediately purchased the car from us and commissioned a full concours restoration. With as striking a color combination as Bahama Yellow and red interior, it was an easy sell!

The car came very well optioned with the following; Webasto Heater, 2kg of Touch Up Paint, 10 Paint Pens, 1 Set of Keys, Electric ‘Golde’ Sunroof, Rear Window w/ Defroster, Sunvisor w/Mirror, Chrome Fold-up Lamp for Engine Compartment, Blaupunkt Radio ‘Koln’, Loudspeaker, Antenna, Dunlop Tires (165/15). The car was completed January 2, 1967 and delivered to the dealership Schultz in Düsseldorf. The original owner of the car was a Mr. Kürt Busch who purchased the car in 1967. Some years later the car was imported into the United States and eventually found its way to California. When we purchased the car, a previous owner had dyed the original red interior black but other than that, the car was complete, numbers matching and in really good "barn-find" condition.

The new owner of this 67S has been practicing medicine for most of his life and felt the Latin phrase pro re nata (meaning, as needed) perfectly described his relationship with his Porsche, so much so, his license plate reads P R N.

1973 Porsche 911S Targa – excellent condition

For sale by owner. California clean title.


I purchased this 911S Targa 2.4 in October 2009 from a previous collector in Montana. It is a clean original 911S inside out. Even though the car was fully restored by the previous owner, I still wanted one of the most reputable Porsche body shops in the Bay Area (Bodystyle by Cecil) to inspect and detail the car. The car needed a few minor things. The original floor pan had some scratches and dent from speed bumps and the original rear glass had two small 0.5 inch scratches. I decided to replace the floor pan, the rear glass, weather-strip around the rear glass with only OEM parts which become harder to find. The shop also injected wax inside front rails for rust protection and added rubberized coating under the car. The car is rust free, no scratch, no dent, and no rock chip. The engine was replaced with another 1973 S engine by one of the previous owners and it is in excellent condition. The manual transmission was rebuilt by Tom Amon at Mobile Works West, San Jose. Now the shifts are faster and more responsive. Sadly I only drove about 650 miles since I bought the car eleven years ago. It’s an amazing car and really fun to drive. BTW, I was surprised that this car has won the second place a class “G” award at Carolinas Region PCA Porschefest Concours D’Elegance twice when I received this car. So the car was judged professionally twice and I will pass these glass plaques to you. You won’t be disappointed. It’s show quality and ready to drive. Nothing needs to be fixed. It runs smooth and strong. So you could enjoy your life. The car is not cheap but it’s cheaper and saves time than restoring a beat up one. I went that route before.

I am a car collector and also have a fully restored, ground up 1973 BMW 2002tii which costs over $150K. This 911S is a much better car. It’s stronger, faster, and better handling than many 1970’s cars. 1973 was one of the best years for Porsche and BMW. 911 is a pure sports car and becomes one of a German legend.

I was asked about the maintenance records. It does have good records, receipts, and photos from the previous owners and me in a 2.5-inch thick binder. It’s a show quality, unmolested car.
