    Auction Description:

    *Original, right-hand drive UK car
*Matching chassis, engine and gearbox numbers
    *Extensively restored
*Formerly in the Carlos Monteverde collection

This early, short-wheelbase 911S is a rare, right-hand drive, UK-supplied car that has seen only limited use since undergoing restoration, in the course of which it was stripped down to a bare shell and completely rebuilt (see photographs and bills on file). More recently the car has been serviced by marque specialist Andy Prill and RPM, and their related bills are on file also.

The accompanying Porsche Certificate of Authenticity confirms that both the engine and gearbox numbers match the chassis number, and states that this car is one of approximately 30 right-hand drive models built for the UK market. Its original colour was Tangerine (the HPI report shows that the colour change to red occurred during the early 1980s). The current owner had an early 911-type wood-rim steering wheel and Recaro sports seats (as per the 2.7 RS Touring) fitted in 2011 when he purchased the car from Carlos Monteverde's famous collection. The original steering wheel and seats are included in the sale.

The vendor has used the Porsche for longer journeys from Hertfordshire to his house in Devon, and on all occasions it has performed faultlessly, covering circa 4,200 miles in the last few years. Presented in close to show condition, this wonderful Porsche 911S comes with a V5C registration document, current MoT and a comprehensive file of history dating back 20 years, which includes the aforementioned restoration and service records.

1970 911S #9110300062 is up for sale at auction in Japan tomorrow. That's the 62nd 2.2S Coupe built. It looks well optioned with sports seats (cord cushions) and also very original apart from a colour change to lt ivory. Not sure what the original colour was.

    911S 2.png

    Auction Description:

    • Rare 'oelklappe' model in the most powerful and desirable version
    • Delivered new to Italy
    • Matching numbers, matching colours

This original, European-specification Porsche 911S Targa has the external filler ('oelklappe') for the engine's dry-sump oil tank, which was fitted to cars built during 1972 only. Hitherto, the tank had been positioned behind the right rear wheel but for '72 it was moved forwards in order to improve weight distribution. The tank's hasty return to its original position and the filler's relocation to within the engine bay was prompted by the fact that service station attendants often mistook it for the fuel filler! It is estimated that only 989 examples were made, making the 'Oelklappe' particularly sought after by purists as 'the one to have'.

Still finished in its original colour of Jade Green, this matching-numbers car was delivered with the following options: radio fader, antenna booster, four speakers, and an engine compartment light. It was imported into the Netherlands in 1977, and from 1998 was most likely owned by a Mr Geboers. In 2006 the Porsche was sold to a Mr Bouwense, passing in 2011 via Smith Veglia, NL to Mr Jean Mikielski in Monaco.

Accompanying documentation consists of French Contrôles Techniques for the last five years; French/MC Carte Grise; and circa 35 invoices dating from 1998 to 2015 for service/repairs either from Porsche or independent specialists. The car also comes with an original instruction manual (in German).

This color pretty much does it all for me. Color is rare and fantastic! The rest of the car - not so much. There are issues with this car. For example, the Seller deliberately shows no pic's of the front seats in the interior shots. But you can see from a few of the exterior side pic's that the front seats are completely unoriginal for the car - not very honest of the Seller. In addition, the beige interior looks incorrect with the charcoal carpet color. The rear seat belts are cheap aftermarket crap. The rivets are wrong for the VIN plaque in the front hood latch area. And it seems strange that the Seller would decide to sand down the VIN stamp to show the VIN number stamp when they can always be seen with the original black undercoating from the factory.

    72S 3.jpg

    72S 4.jpg

    72S 5.jpg

    Auction Description:

The specification of this 911S is very much regarded, with hindsight, as probably the ultimate 'S' spec. It's a left-hand drive, 1972 911S 2.4, distinguished by having the oil filler on the right-hand rear wing, no sunroof, and no rear wiper, making it virtually a 'lightweight'.

The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity confirms that this Metallic Blue, 911S was destined for the Italian market in June 1972, with tinted windows the only factory extra.

The engine number fitted originally was 6322402, which suggests a replacment early on it its life.

It was first registered in the UK in July 2000, having returned to Germany in 1999 as recorded by a TUV certificate in the history file. The first of many recognized Porsche specialist's invoices in the file are Specialist Cars of Malton who conducted a service and replaced numerous parts. The records continue with input from Chris Turner Porsche of London, the Porsche Centre Hatfield and most recently, work by William Francis who conducted a sympathetic restoration. The work has included a complete glass out respray rectifying any areas of corrosion and refinishing to its original stunning colour. Two new door skins were fitted together with a new front panel. The original Fuchs have a just had correct period Michelin XWX 185/70VR tyres fitted. The overall result is a very presentable ‘lightweight' 911S in a classic colour combination at a realistic guide for the most desirable side-oil filler, Porsche 911S 2.4.

    Auction Description:

This particular matching numbers 2.2 S was delivered through Porsche cars Italy in May 1970.

The car is supplied with an independent report (18 pages) by Porsche author Peter Morgan, along with a history file. Most recent expenditure of £5,000 has been spent detailing the car, to bring it up to the condition it is presented in today.

Finished in its original and unusual colour combination of black over black leatherette with basket weave inlays this is a wonderful European delivered example of one of the best driving sports cars ever built. Both cosmetically and mechanically this car stands out, and would be a strong contender at any concourse judged event, or a superb entry for rallies and tours.

    Lightweight? I don't think so.
Non-matching engine at that estimate? I don't think so.

This wonderful example of a Porsche 911 S 2.4 Coupè was originally registered in Treviso and is offered for sale with its Italian papers and maintenance book. It has never been restored and is finished in a stunning Aubergine colour (025-9-1) and benefits from having Recaro seats. It is equipped with the original 2.4 S engine (633618).

With only 80,000 kms on the clock, this has to be one of the best examples of the 911 S 2.4 Coupè currently on the market. It is described as being in good condition and represents an opportunity to aqcuire one of the most iconic sports cars of the ‘70s.
