1970S for sale on PP. NMNA

    Scott

    http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...3rd-owner.html

    FS: 1970 S Coupe, 3rd owner
Have loved and cherished this car for 40 years, purchased in 1977 from second owner.
    - repainted in 1980, original color 8484 blue metallic Sikkens, new quarters, rockers, and fenders all purchased from Porsche
    - floor pan and front suspension pan all original
    - engine rebuilt by myself in mid 80's, heads redone (guides), new Mahle 2.2s pistons/cylinders, throttle bodies rebuilt by Eurometrix, pump redone Rovan diesel. Engine and car had about 160000 km then
    - seats redone by Tony back when he was with Autos International using original Porsche pepita houndstooth cloth
    - all five date matched wheels restored by Harvey 2 years ago, new XWX' s installed
    - this is a German delivery car (Mahag Munich), imported into Canada in 1976, came with the small flag mirror, I like the looks of the US front lenses better than the Euro ones, a NOS set of Euro front lenses come with the car, also the MFI thermostat comes with the car, I have a mechanical setup at this time.
    - l had a high performance 2.4 engine in the car for the last 20 yrs, put the original motor back in 2 years ago, also freshened up the underside of the car at the same time.
    - mechanically car needs nothing, electrics everything works as should except rear window defogger not hooked up
    - three known issues with car, leaks a little oil from intermediate shaft cover area, small stone chips on hood and fenders, small crack in paint at rear of driprail hasn't changed in last 30 years
    - car has only been driven 38000 km in last 25 years.
US$200,000, Car is located in Toronto Canada. Any questions contact me via pm, lots more to talk about. Rudy

Oh boy. Another "believed original" mileage car. I'm guessing Google isn't available to the copy guys at auction houses?

11805378 Being sold by organization by name of Motostalgia. Something with the transmission seems incorrect in one of the listings.

    Scott

    http://motostalgia.com/car-detail/?c...-CarId41927-94

    Ad copy:
    1968 Porsche 911L
Designer: Ferdinand ‘Butzi’ Porsche Erwin Komenda

    Estimate: $125,000 - $175,000

    Chassis Number: 11805378
    Decoded: 11=Porsche 911; 8=1968 Year of Production; 0=911L Coupe Body; 5378=Serial
    Engine: 1991 CC Air-Cooled Flat*-Six Engine 130 bhp
    4-Speed Manual Transmission
Four* Wheel Disk Brakes with Ventilated Front Rotors

    Mileage: 27,227 Believed Actual

    1 of Only 449 Single*-Year 911Ls
    Unrestored Survivor
Original Fuchs Wheels and Fitted Luggage

The Model: Ferdinand ‘Butzi’ Porsche sketched the concept of a larger replacement for the legendary 356 in 1959. First shown in 1963, the new 911 chassis developed in parallel with the new 901 engine, an air-cooled flat-*six with a 1,991cc displacement. Although production began in 1964, the first ‘big’ Porsches weren’t available in the United States until early 1965. The 911 received a number of developments quickly as the 901 engine, the brakes, and suspension components rapidly improved. The 911S of 1966 received the most powerful engine and braking system, but this model was not available in the US market until 1969. The 911L appeared for the 1968 model year only with better comfort and trim levels the base model. The 911L received an upgraded 130 bhp engine and the brake upgrades of the ‘S’ model, making it the top *specification car in the US market for 1968. The combination of upgraded performance and higher overall specification has made the short-*production 911L a rare and sought after Porsche.

The Car: This rare 911 is one of only 449 911Ls produced. More amazing still is that it is an incredibly well-*optioned survivor. It was resprayed in its original white about five years ago but has never been restored. The incredible condition inside and out supports the belief that the low mileage is genuine. It retains its original black and red plaid interior, rare ‘Elephant Hide’ doors and impossible to find Deluxe carpeting. This 911L also has factory fitted luggage and its original Fuchs wheels. All original books and tools are included as are a file of receipts for the paint and recent mechanical overhaul. What a remarkable chance to secure not only a rare 911L but one in this condition with so many desirable options. This is a superb early 911 and incredible investment opportunity.
