Hello! - My 911L is now being offered on BaT: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1968-porsche-911l-14/

Selling to gather capital for another SWB in the future...

Many of you know of the deep dives I have taken with the car over the last year to address bugs and other issues, several of them documented here on the forums (thank you all, kindly, for the help and education). I am most definitely here to stay, I have been bitten by the swb bug and can't wait to sink my teeth into the next project.

    Cheers,

    Dallas

I'd like to see the Kardex on this car. Color, VIN, "front strut" reference on CoA... and such a late delivery date. This car would have been built in the first few days of August, suggesting it spent some time around Werks or was an exec car

    72S Window Sticker.jpg

    Seller's Description:

3 Family Slicktop with EXTENSIVE docs/window sticker. Lived in TN/MO/NY. Nashville attorney purchased new. 2nd owner worked at Oak Ridge Labs, autocrossed it (Brumos serviced) gave car to stepson in STL who couldn't keep up with car so I purchased to do complete original resto. Emails from former owners' kids “I have fond memories driving to church on Sun mornings with my little sister in my lap listening to bluegrass music on the radio. I remember hearing the car coming from a long way away when Dad was coming home at night” “I remember helping him put on the temperature C racing tires/light wheels on the car - then going and warming them for the autocross race. Funny how the original owners memories are driving sanely down the street to church and my memories are adrenalin moments of racing and pushing the limit” 09 Resto https://qq0u.app.link/e/ScF8uH6jXU worst rust repair from failed rear window seal but no cut and patch Brooklyn maestro Emilio Romeo removed the entire rear seat and rear shelf section from a donor 1972T, cut out the rusted panel/folded back the seams to weld the rust free part – like new. Removed flares and butt welded original wheel arches, replaced front left fender and driver’s side lock post. Rennwerk completely rebuilt the engine and high locking diff transmission. Everything was done - carpets, headliner, door panels, hoses (fuel tank vent lines) suspension, etc. Harvey Weidman did the Fuchs and dipped the spare. Vredestein rubber original size. Car came with comfort houndstooth seats/need restoring currently has repro houndstooth sport seats. Original AC car but I boxed the components which come with the car. Everything works (including factory radio). Light use since resto mostly PCA events/Lime Rock vintage festivals. Only two minor paint flaws (small bubble on driver’s lower quarter and small scratch on lower rear passenger side valance-touched up) otherwise perfect. Door handles and window trim have original patina.

The term 'slicktop' irritates me so much that I'd like to smack the mother of the person that coined the term. If it's got a sunroof, I'll call it a sunroof coupe. If no sunroof??? Figure it out, genius.

I'm going to start calling sunroof coupes 'holies'. Maybe it'll go viral.

67S soft window targa, bahama yellow..... I doubt it will fetch what the one at Gooding got this last weekend.. or the green one that was on BAT a few months ago. Some nice "raw meat" for those who like to note details...

For instance, the obvious "matching numbers" re-stamp of a later engine crankcase...
