    9113300931

    Before the details go poof! . . .

    '. . . vin number 9113300931 and is a full matching numbered car with 5 speed gearbox.

    There is a full CoA in the history file, which also includes all the MOTs back to the mid 1980’s when the previous owner purchased the car. The current MOT has expired and there were no advisories. HPI is clear and is in the folder along with a fair amount of history and the original manual, with a reproduction service book in an original burgundy folder.

    The car has been stored at Canford Classics for a few years and has been run in and regularly moved. It was last serviced 2 years ago but will be sold with a new full service and MOT. The current mileage is 95,727. We know this 911S very well and have competed a lot of works on it. It had a full engine build in 2014 as well as a full gearbox build, and has only been driven approx 4,000 miles since. During this time the car also had a full suspension and brake rebuild. We have also undertaken various interior refurbishment works. The body work was completed and painted in around 2013 by another restorer. The gaps are all good and original and the body work is very sound.

    * Original Silver Metallic with Black Leatherette/Hounds Tooth interior
    * Matching numbers
    * Long term ownership with excellent service history
    * Extensive restoration works including full engine and gearbox rebuild, full repaint, interior refurbishment

    CPR Classic is very excited to offer this lovely 1968 Porsche 911L Coupe that underwent a complete ground-up restoration by us and was completed in 2016. Finished in its original color combination of Blutorange (Tangerine) over black leather, this example presents in better than new, fully restored condition.

    This 911L has a beautiful history and is detailed as follows:

    CPR first acquired this 911L in 2012 from its second owner, who purchased the car in 1972 and had owned it for the following 40+ years. The car was purchased by the longtime owner from a dealer in Garmisch, Germany, while he was stationed in Italy in the Air Force. The owner had the car shipped to him in Italy, where it spent the next two years traversing Desenzano Del Garda (a beautiful tourist destination town on the southwestern shore of Lake Garda) on his daily commute to work.

    Two years later, the owner was relocated to Dayton, Ohio, and had the car shipped to the factory in Zuffenhausen for service and front seat replacement before sending the car to his new residence in Ohio. The vehicle spent about four years in Dayton before the owner was again relocated to Europe, this time in Ramstein, Germany, and took the car with him. The car spent the following four years in Germany before the owner retired to Albuquerque, New Mexico. The car spent the next seventeen years in Albuquerque and then an additional ten years in Brentwood, California.

    Then one morning in 2012, the longtime owner arrived at our shop in a very original but well-driven 911L looking to sell the car. After inspection, CPR purchased the car from the owner as it was found to be in beautifully dry and straight condition but was in need of complete restoration. After acquiring the vehicle, we placed it into storage for a short period of time before it was completely disassembled and began the restoration process.

    The car was first wholly disassembled and then stripped to bare metal by hand. The tub was then put through a detailed metal process where every panel was evaluated and addressed as necessary. The tub was placed on our frame bench to ensure it was straight and all pickup points were within factory specifications. Lead was added where needed and the exterior was metal finished prior to moving to paint.

    Once in the paint shop, the tub was placed on a rotisserie and was sealed and re-undercoated. The bottom of the tub was finished in the correct shade of black and then moved to the exterior paint process. First, the exterior was sealed and placed in heavy primer. Then several hundred hours were spent blocking the car to ensure arrow-straight panels and a perfect foundation for the paint to be applied. After a final layer of primer and a final detailed blocking, the car was refinished in its correct original shade of Blutorange (Tangerine). Following paint, a color sand and buff was performed to remove orange peel and light imperfections.

    After the car exited paint, it was partially assembled before being sent to Autos International to install a new black full leatherette w/ elephant hide interior as per the COA. Every piece of the interior was either restored or replaced to ensure a nearly flawless final presentation. Following interior, the car returned to assembly and had the drivetrain installed, and final sorting was performed.

    The engine remains numbers matching and is original to the car. The car was initially delivered as a Sportomatic and remained in that configuration until CPR restored it. The car was sold partially through the restoration to a longtime CPR collector client in Phoenix, AZ. The client requested that the car be converted to a correct 901 manual transmission setup during restoration. A proper 901 gearbox was sourced, overhauled, and installed as per the client's request. After sorting and break-in mileage, the car was delivered to the client in Arizona, where it remained for several years before being sold. Recently, the car was purchased by another longtime CPR Client and was used sparingly for a short period of time before returning to CPR.

    The car remains today in the same fully restored condition it left us in five years ago. Only minor items needed to be addressed, and the car received a full service on arrival. If you are in the market for a stunning short wheelbase 911 that has a wonderful history and will provide a better than new driving experience, this is a must-consider example.

    Dealer Description:

    CPR Classic is delighted to offer this striking 1970 Porsche 911S Coupe finished in its correct original combination of Burgundy over a black German vinyl interior. Ready for sporting usage, this S delights on a twisting back road and looks the part with its driving lights and Heuer "Rallye Master" timekeeping set.

    This 911S is a completely-numbers-matching example that underwent preparation at CPR Classic in 2012. It sold to a collector in Texas who kept the car for the next eight years. During its Texas ownership, the car was regularly maintained by Moorespeed of Austin, Texas, to ensure it remained in peak running condition. Upon the car's return to CPR in January of 2020, it was evident that Moorespeed's service was outstanding.

    Nicely optioned, this Porsche features both lower fog lights and through-the-horn-grill driving lights that give the car a superb rally-style aesthetic. The car's brightwork is in beautiful shape throughout, and the fit and finish of all exterior components are excellent. The paint presents well, with some patina of enthusiastic driving, but is overall crisp and show-worthy.

    The Texas owner had installed Avon CR6ZZ road-legal vintage racing tires for more grip and a period look. They offer a slightly stiffer ride but look the business. The slightly-lowered suspension maintains compliance for longer drives while being eager to be tossed into corners.

    The 2.2L S engine is an absolute gem, exhibiting the free-revving capability that makes the short-stroke cars magical. It has benefited from frequent exercise and is simply a joy.

    Inside, one's eyes immediately settle on an exceedingly rare set of Heuer stopwatches known as the "Rallye Master" set. The combination of the Heuer "Master Time" and the three-button Heuer "Monte Carlo" timer make up this sought-after pair. The car delivers with the stopwatches, or they can be removed from the vehicle at a price reduction. The seats are in excellent shape. The seat belts are original, with the delivery tags. The dashboard is in exceptional condition, with no cracks or creases, and the knee bolsters show equal signs of careful conservation.

    This 911S is offered as a fully sorted, turn-key example and is ready for its next owner to enjoy for years to come. Competitively priced for immediate sale, don't miss this beautiful early 911S with factory rally-style options!

    Auction Description:

    * Matching numbers
    * Completely repainted some time ago and, since then, perfectly preserved
    * Rare short-wheel-base S model
    * Ideal car for historic regularity races and rallies
    * Mechanics maintained by Centro Porsche Brescia
    * Saottini Collection

    This Porsche 911 S, chassis no. 11801170 is one of the examples made in 1968, still with the "short" wheelbase of 2,211 meters. It comes from the cars chosen for the Saottini Collection. The kilometres marked are 92,778 km, and it is one of the 1,267 units produced. The vehicle comes with a Porsche certificate of origin, a set of studded tires and a normal one. The car was used by the Porsche center in Brescia, italy, in numerous Winter Marathons, an almost fixed presence at the winter race from 2013 to 2018; after the races, she was always "followed" by the technicians of the same Porsche center. The car was restored years ago; in the interior, the driver's seat has been replaced with another from the same period.

    Agile and nervous, still with the "short" step. It comes from the cars chosen for the Saottini Collection. With low mileage, it is one of 1,267 units produced. The car comes with a Porsche certificate of origin. It has a past in numerous Winter Marathons, an almost permanent presence at the winter race from 2013 to 2018 and is potentially an ideal car for historical regularity races.

    Auction Description:

    - The final year for this desirable “long-hood,” pre-impact bumper body style
    - Comprehensively restored by marque experts
    - Stunning Silver Metallic over black leather interior
    - Retains numbers-matching 2.4-liter engine
    - Accompanied by tool roll, jack, and spare wheel

    This gorgeous F-Series Porsche 911 S coupe is the 17th of 1,430 produced world-wide for the 1973 model year, the last of the much sought-after “long-hood,” pre-impact bumper 911s. Ordered in Silbermetalic with a full black leather interior, this 911 S was completed on 1 August 1972 and was among the first 911 S coupes imported to the US in 1973. It is said to have been delivered new to a doctor in the Midwest who had selected a small number of factory options. These included green tinted glass all around, radio-delete, a manual antenna and noise suppressor package, and an engine compartment light.

    The doctor enjoyed the car until the early 1990s, when he sold it to Florida-based racers Danny Stewart and Scott Tyler, who disassembled the coupe for restoration. Before the job was completed, the car was sold to another Porsche enthusiast, Keith Innis, who also decided that he lacked the time to finish the work. It wound up with Phil Bagley at Porsche restoration specialist Klubsport Racing near Palm Beach, Florida, where the engine—the numbers-matching unit, according to research on file—and transaxle were overhauled, along with the suspension, brakes, and shocks. The engine was upgraded with Carrera chain tensioners. All the hardware was replaced, replated, or powder-coated. The lower pan was inspected and re-undercoated, and the Fuchs alloy wheels were refinished.

    After the restoration was completed, this 911 S was sold before coming into the collection of the current owner in 2016. This owner, a noted collector, noted that the paint on one door did not meet his standards, so, he decided to have the car stripped for a full glass-out, bare-metal respray in January 2017 by award-winning painter Scott Bonowski of Hot Rod and Hobbies in Signal Hill, California. While the car was disassembled, all the chrome trim was replated. Porsche marque specialist Klaus Holthaus of North American Racing Werks in Reseda, California adjusted the mechanical fuel injection and carried out additional maintenance.

    This 911 S coupe presents beautifully, with wonderful paint (the nose is protected with Clear Bra) and Bluetooth-equipped interior, and a well-detailed engine bay and front trunk with its correct spare, jack, and tool roll. It would be a fine addition to any serious collection of air-cooled 911s.
