Thread: 911S/911L Cars for Sale

  1. #2621
That is my car Bill. You can click my profile and read my posts on bringing it back to life. I’m pleased to say it is now a well sorted and dependable low mileage driver in mostly original condition. My ready-set-go thread is a good one to read. I’d also like to say that I’ve learned a few things since that post such as the reason behind the bad quarter panel and door paint. Initially I was told by the owner of the restoration shop that was installing my Datsun windshield and who was familiar with the car that he remembered that something unusual had happened to the car. He thought that something minor happened to it while it was in the shop, but couldn’t recall just what it was. Latter, after talking to the second owner I found out that the car had taken a trip through a barbwire fence! Also I have a receipt from the local Porsche dealer for a stereo radio in the early 70’s, but after I received the Kardex I saw that it did indeed come with a Frankfurt radio. Perhaps they just switched to a stereo Frankfurt.
Thank you for your interest, it is indeed a great car.
    1969 911S
1969 Datsun 2000...worth less, but more valuable

Great and thanks for the follow-up. I figured you were an “EarlyS’er” since you used many of our favorite providers.

I had a very good experience with BaT, but it took three tries to get them to list it. I enjoyed all the comments and learned from several. There was no other forum where I could have sold my over-the-top restoration.

Cool mini bike and definitely an over the top restoration. I bet percentage wise considering original price to restoration cost is not much different than doing a longhood!
BAT certainly gives you the biggest audience for specialty vehicles.

    Thanks for posting.
Interior and exterior color changes. Very pretty car, but originality is king for anything above $150k.

The VIN is 9112300254. An earlier post here suggests it was originally yellow/black. (And that it was offered for $199k in early 2020.)
