I'm not sure Tim, but I keep ordering them and keep getting a sort of generic "one size fits all" set that doesn't look right nor fit right. They're later fitment. You may have better luck, but I just got tired of screwing around with it. I have a lot of work to do on the doors and interior and don't want to take it all apart again afterwards just to fit the right gaskets.

You'll be amused that I bought a plain roof clip so I can get rid of the sunroof in my white car! I have the Sawzall ready, but it's a hell of a plunge to cut the roof off of a perfectly good car!! Who the hell would do such a thing?!

Good God, have I just created an evil trend here? I didn't mean to do it Jens, honest

But I'm sure you won't be going the extreme route by cutting into the A,B, and C pillars like I did. I suspect you will just be blending the outer skin of the non-sunroof clip onto your existing roof frame, correct?

Please post your progress, I'd love to see this. Good luck

We early 911 guys are maniacs! The 356 crowd *covets* sunroof cars and pays big money for them. And we actually cut them off.

Changing a complete roof by cutting off the pillars is a bit drastic and will need very good jigs to get the window gaps 100%.

Roof skins are available from Porsche but wou need to roll all the gutters open and crimp them back in and this is also quite tricky.

We make a wheeled panel that spot welds into the existing aperture and does the job neatly and easily without risking the integrity of the shell.

We have fitted quite a few and sold a number of panels.

We have also started making the rods for head liners in ivory or black

It takes about a day to cut out the sunroof casette and spot weld the new panel, including filler work.

Eric, I just figured I'd ask the Congregation (and pay whatever I have to) after failing twice to get the right ones from reputable sources. Sometimes the parts counter guys don't understand the subtleties the way the deranged compulsive anal-ists here do.

Andy, thanks for the gift. Payback is a bitch, I'll make it up to you somehow.

Tim, you're absolutely right, drip edge to drip edge likely. We'll see how it goes. Can't hardly wait to get rid of that loathsome yet perfect sunroof!

Chris, does that give you the head-clearance of a non-sunroof car? Looks good, and it's White!

I'm thinking of using a red corduroy headliner.

    Hi Chris,

yes, your right about cutting into the pillars being a bit excessive but I replaced my sunroof clip simply because I had a damaged roof.

How did it get damaged you say? It's a long story and I wasn't responsible either
