    Can an early metal steering column cover fit on later column and switch gear?

    I searched and could not find an answer to my question; can the early 911 912 swb metal steering column cover fit on a later lwb (1969) steering column and switch gear?

    I don't have an early metal cover to test and would like to know.

    I don't have an answer, never tried to do that! I tend to think it won't since the switches attach to the housing on a SWB and to welded on brackets on the later steering column, rather than to the cover.

    That is helpful. I was not aware of the difference between how the switches mount.
