Repro Chrome Trim Pieces - Who is the best and who to stay away from???

Bumper guards, horn grills, door handles. . .just received a quote of $1300 from Paul's Chrome in PA to re-chrome 6 pieces so I will be going aftermarket. Please tell me who offers the best - Stoddard, Pelican, Sierra Madre, etc. Looking for specific feedback on these items not a comment on a company's general reputation. I know some of these companies aggressively switch suppliers, sometimes for the worse. Thanks for any feedback and have a great week.

That is a pretty good quote, the quality of repro parts is not nearly as good as correctly rechromed originals. (Except Eric's stuff of course)

I had a less than ideal experience with Paul's Chrome and my car's horn grilles. I'll leave it at that.

I have no idea who "Paul's Chrome" is but you can't make Chicken Salad out of Chicken Sh!@.

Unfortunately, the market has settled for horn grilles poorly reproduced -- they're 4-5mm narrower than OE -- and even Stoddard carries them. Eric Linden was going to make correct standard LWB horn grilles but felt the market wouldn't pay the premium for accuracy. I would sure like to see him change his mind. But he's a good businessman and likely made the correct decision.

To be fair I had my horn grills re-chromed, the problem with them is that the originals were made of pot metal that pits very easily and the pits and corners are impossible to polish. Mine are OK, they sparkle that is for sure, like a diamond in a goat's ass.

Jim has it right, some metals and parts are easier to re-chrome than others.

I have used pauls chrome many times they are show quality.they aren't cheap but they can chrome plate anything metal, pot metal, plastic etc.you get what you pay for.so as what jim said, just because you don't know who they are,who cares.

Very true, the guys I used were cheap, and I got what I paid for.
