Ques about A/C relay near fuse panel cluster...

... my A/C is long gone and I'm redoing the fuse panel. I've noticed a few early cars without the top black round relay and wondered if I could get away with that. The "green/red" wire from the top, unused 2 fuse section (I think it was dedicated to the A/C) goes to that relay - so, it (relay) was for the A/C, but WHAT ELSE? ... there are a few other wires going to that relay also.

Does anyone know what that relay handled besides the A/C?

    thanks,
