    1968 Window Cranks

I am trying to replace the black caps on my window cranks.

I bought the necessary parts from Pelican, which consist of the new knob, a short phillips head screw and a bush.

I have removed the (original) crank from the door but cannot remove the bush to which the knob attaches. Is it cast in? I'm not sure if its cast as one piece or if it can be removed. The new knob will not stretch over the bush end ( about the size of a small metal button on a denim jacket).
    My questions are:

    1. Can the bush be removed? I have tried, but it wont budge, with the use of lubricant (WD40) and pliers. They appear to be original, and are in excellent condition, so I don't wish to break them.
    2. Assuming the answer to q1 is no - then I presume the best bet is simply to buy new cranks, knobs?

Would be interested to hear of other peoples experiences with these.

    Regards,

    Justin

You need to drill out the bushing. Pelican usually provides you with instructions on the process.
