    Introduction - New 911S Owner

    Just wanted to introduce myself.

I just closed a deal on a '69 911S Soft Window Targa and I'm pretty excited. I'm a longtime Porsche fanatic and own several including a couple G50 911's, a 930, a 914 LE and a couple 951's but I've only recently fallen in love with the long hood cars. I've been stalking the forums and can't wait to avail myself of the collective knowledge herein. Seems like some great people here who love their cars for all the right reasons.

My car is in-transport now from the west coast so probably won't make it to TX for a week or so. I'm sure I'll be posting away once she gets here. Looking forward to being a part of this community.

    JP

    If yes, it's a beauty.

    Welcome aboard, JP . . .

Any Longhood's a nice car --- but your particular flavor is extremely rare . . . if you don't already know that

And if your car isn't already on this list, then please add it here . . .

    http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...ight=roll+call

Then . . . when you get some time . . . please tell us a little about why you wanted what you have, where + how you found it, and --- most of all? . . . .

. . . as many pictures as you can manage!

    . . . picture = 1000 words, etc

Thanks, guys. And, yes, I did indeed by that car from Jonathan.

As for my desire for an early 911, and this car specifically, it's hard to say. I have a rather extensive collection that's all over the map.

For anyone that's interested, Here's My Online Garage. I don't collect any specific genre. Or any specific marque. I certainly don't buy my cars based on any expected return on investment. All I really do is buy cars that I love. I'm the guy who might drive an F430 to work one day, an air-cooled Porsche the next, then finish off the week in an old Bronco or a Gen1 RX-7. I love them all the same, just for different reasons. I grew up with a mechanic father and I guess you never really get the 10w-40 out of your blood once it's in there.

As for the car I bought, I can't say that I was originally looking for a 911S SWT. Once I decided I had to have a long hood car I decided to start looking for a clean 911 and a clean 912 (still looking for the 912 if anyone has a lead). I came to this site early to educate myself and saw my future car right away. I realized I probably wouldn't see this car again so I made the decision to move on it. Jonathan proved easy to deal with and now the car is mine. Sometimes things just work out.

At any rate. I'll post some more photos when she gets home to TX (although Jonathan appears to be a much better photographer than I) and I'm sure I'll have lots of questions as I start learning my way around my new baby.

Don't worry, that's just part of the initiation, and in about a week you'll receive instructions for the secret handshake.
