Ron, I have a pair of 72/73 arms at the powder coater right now I'll be selling. Make sure you get the year you need as 72/73 arms are different from the 69-71 arms. Mine also have the factory sway bar mounts on them.

Agree... Scott is correct. The pickup points are different for the shock mount. All mine are 69-71 so it looks like you have options either way.

hey guys, thanks for all the replies! and thanks for the heads up regarding the shock pick up. i found some awesome and very informative threads last PM identifying differences in the 69-71 shock pick up points vs the 72-73 (steel) and the 74-77 (has the ball mounts for the sway bar like the steel arms have and turns out this is what my aluminum arms are) and 78+ aluminum trailing arms. this site is a treasure trove of great data.

i am looking for a set to be cut up and modified for SWB + RSR bracing so I'd hate to muck up an already beautifully powder coated set.

I tentatively have a trade with Ryan (tsol) who lives 30 min from me for the set of on his 72 RS currently in paint.

btw, jhora the marking say 71 but after all my research, those look to be 72-73 units. the shock mount does not protrude as far back. the 69-71 are a bit longer. if the trade with ryan falls thru though, those would be the perfect set to cut up THEN make pretty

here is a 69 arm (top) cut down. notice the longer shock mount and more of a cone shaped support

Nope. Those are correct. The one on top in your picture is the 1972 and later unit that has been modified. See how the shock mount protrudes out further back from the banana?

woops, my bad, thanks for the correction Neunelfer, i had them reversed in my head for some reason.

here is a thread that Chris_seven and Jim Breazeale show some pics identifying them
    http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...+reinforcement

    69-71 bottom, 72-73 top

as far as a link to a great thread on the aluminum arms, read this one to start
    http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...iling+arm+swap

regarding identifying them, (ok, i think i have this right) 74-77 arms have the ball for the sway bar while the 78+ have have a bolt and captive nut.
