Thread: My apologies

    My apologies

I guess my first experience with moderating a disagreement didn't go so well. I tried to work it out so both parties could discuss offline but it didn't quite work out that way. My efforts to maintain decorum appeared to backfire.

As always, there are two sides to every story. I hope I do better next time managing a disagreement. I will say that I always aspire to be fair. Thanks for your patience.

    Peter,

Don't take it personally, you do a task that nobody else here does, it is un- or under-rewarding, and I'm sure you hear more than your share of criticism from many of us.

Do what you feel is right, and I'm pretty sure it is the best thing for nearly all of us. In the end, some mistakes get made, o doubt, but I'm pretty sure they are minor compared to all the good stuff you make happen.

I think anybody who knows you personally Pete...no apology is necessary.

I agree. You do a great job Peter and you can't please all of the people all of the time. This was a difficult situation that probably could have never been resolved here. Keep up the good work.

Peter, it's a thankless task, and you can never please everyone. I admit I don't like to see threads censured, but on the other hand when it goes from just disagreements to serious name calling, and SHOULD have been taken off line by the parties involved (well I guess one tried to) then it passes from useful information to a point that benefits no one and is just muckraking. I'm sure many of us are unaware of how much behind- the- scenes time gets spent on these problems.
