    1966 911 inside door paint

Trying to finish my 66 coupe and I understand that under the black door panels on the outside edge is a line of black paint. My car is Ivory, does anyone have a photo of the inside area with no panel attatched. Any idea as to the exact location, size/width of the line and color/gloss of the paint that was used? Car was repainted and no reference cars around.
    Thanks for any help.

Here's a coupe of photos of my unrestored largely original 66 Ivory coupe (laid up from 1977). As you can see I did slightly 'overdo' the black strip near the top RH corner. Also originally the inner edge was very rough and it looks like it was hand-painted to a masked outer edge. Colour is what I would describe as 'semi-gloss', or a 50:50 mix of black gloss and satin. That's what I used and it looked ok.

Bob, below is a reference pic from Darryl Deppe´s 912-restoration. I believe satin black is the correct way to go, Würth´s is a nice match.

I think the factory used a brush.

I'll take photos of mine at the weekend and post, if you want a fourth example...

I just did this exact project on my car and it came out great. The paint line follows right on the outside of the curve of the entire edge of the door.

I used Wurth Satin Black and a GOOD tape to get a tight edge.

I also used a brush like the factory did, and primed the area first.

When you get to the channel by the A pillar, follow it up the outer edge to the frame. Here's an original paint car to illustrate.

Yes. Was brushed on. Also under engine lid grille and other area. Very recent post on this.

Brushed on from factory, this is an early '66. After repaint I used SEM Trim Black, worked well.
