FS: Anybody looking for a 64 engine?

I have contact with a guy who says he has a late 64 engine. I can put you in touch with this person and inspect the engine on your behalf if need be. It is in Australia. He is looking for $25000 but negotiations will be up to you.

Go on... All I know is what I been told, it came out of a light ivory car built 10/64.

Is this a known engine? Any idea what happened to the body?

    Andy,

I'm thinking it's a late November 1964 engine. I know of engine 900 236 which was about a week after it.

(October engines were from "about" 120's to about "170's").

    Chris,
was this a right hand drive car? or a left hand drive delivered to England - (like 027 that made it's way to Canada). Does Mr. Kennedy know about this? Is it in the AFN paperwork?

Thanks for any information you can pass along.

    Very cool.

I am guessing it was a LHD car as SK ('1st' on this forum) has the first RHD 901 and it's a 65 according to his sig.

I believe the build date suggests it has to be LHD and I believe Stewarts' car 300 475 is the first Australian delivered RHD. The first RHD car 300 474 went to Porsche cars Great Britain.
I believe the seller is dating it Oct 64.
Original carbs no longer with the engine.

    For price comparison...

900210 recently sold for $15k. It was complete, but hadn't been run in years, and required assembly.

This engine would not be from a RHD chassis; the first four RHD cars (and that's all there were MY65) were built and completed intermittently over the first half of '65.

300475 was the Slate Grey Hamilton's demonstrator that stayed in Europe 'til late '65 with Alan and then served as the local demo car until it was sold sometime later ex-Hamilton's in '66/67.

I'll dig up my AFN LHD/RHD list to see what LHD ivory cars are on it.....

    Cheers

    Stew.
